QORZAVEN Islands — the room's centre of gravity
The Liska is the kitchen's front porch: a bar at true counter height with a brass rail where heels actually land, cable routes for the morning's kettle and laptops, and stone or oak overhead that shrugs off coffee rings.
Islands carry the room, so theirs is structural carpentry: torsion-stiff carcases under stone loads, mitred waterfall edges falling like cut rock, and services — power, water, extraction — routed at drawing stage rather than regretted at fitting. Seating overhangs are engineered, not hoped.
Design & Craft
- Services planned first: power, water and extraction routed in the plinth
- Counter heights at true bar or table standard — stated per model
- Cable routes for the morning's kettle and laptops
- Soft-close everything; edges rounded where hips pass
- Stools sized to the overhang as an option
- Island carcases braced for the day someone sits on the counter

Care
Matt surfaces forgive fingerprints; spills still prefer promptness. Keep steam-heavy appliances ventilated as fitted, re-tune door gaps yearly with the supplied key, and the kitchen closes softly into old age.
Questions, Answered
Can I have a real butcher's block inset?
Yes — end-grain inserts fitted flush or proud, oiled and replaceable. Knife work belongs on wood; the stone will thank you.
How much seating overhang is safe?
Engineered per top: typically 300 mm unsupported in stone with concealed steel where more is wanted. The drawing states it; physics signs it.
The QORZAVEN Promise
One standard across the range: if it would not survive a decade of family breakfasts in our own test kitchen, it does not ship with the QORZAVEN mark.
