QORZAVEN Islands — the room's centre of gravity
Restaurants call it the pass; at home the Harissa is simply where everything happens — solid hardwood, brakes on the wheels or feet on the floor, and room underneath for the machinery of appetite.
A good island is furniture with civic duties: end-grain blocks fitted for real knife work, stainless zones where heat lands, and storage planned from the cook's orbit outward. Ours are drawn around how your kitchen actually moves — then built to hold that choreography for decades.

Scrub blocks across the grain, rinse briefly, dry standing. Scars are patina until you sand them away in ten minutes with the kit — end-grain forgives decades of honest knives.
Questions, Answered
What size island fits my room?
The honest rule is a metre of walkway on working sides. Send the plan; we draw the largest island that never makes you sidestep.
How much seating overhang is safe?
Engineered per top: typically 300 mm unsupported in stone with concealed steel where more is wanted. The drawing states it; physics signs it.
The QORZAVEN Promise
Kitchens are commissioned, not delivered. Our own fitters install, level, seal and connect; appliances are commissioned to their manuals; and the packaging leaves with us.
